Asheville School for the Apparel Arts was founded in August of 2015 by Anna Toth, fashion designer and winner of Charleston Fashion Week's Emerging Designer Competition: East in 2014.  Anna learned the art of flat pattern drafting during her time in San Francisco, CA under the tutelage of Suzy Furrer, author of Building Patterns: The Architecture of Women's Clothing, which is one of the text books used in the Patternmaking and Design program. Asheville School for the Apparel Arts is founded on the principle of cultivating and sharing the time-tested, practical skills needed to create the clothing we wear throughout our lives. Our curriculum centers fit, construction, and craftsmanship in the spirit of producing clothing that endures.
